Suburban Aero Club of Chicago

Welcome to Suburban AeroClub of Chicago
About Us
Suburban Aeroclub of Chicago (SAC) was founded in 1962 and is one of the oldest model aircraft clubs in the nation. We build and fly model aircraft of all types: member interests include airplanes, seaplanes, gliders, helicopters and drones. Our members range in age from teenagers to senior citizens. We have an instructional program to help new members get started in the hobby, and we run a number of events throughout the year.
Our regular flying site is at 19498 S. Cicero Avenue at the Cook County Forest Preserve model airplane field. We fly floatplanes at Midlothian Reservoir (167th and Cicero) in Oak Forest
We are an AMA Gold Leader Club, a distinction achieved by only 5% of AMA chartered clubs.

Upcoming Events
Maiden Flight Day
to be rescheduled due to weather
April 7th (rain day to be announced)
-
Got a nice new plane to show off?
-
Got a plane you’d like an instructor to check out before you fly it? To make sure the controls, CG, transmitter settings, etc., are all OK? Just to have another pair of eyes look it over (always a good idea).
-
Got a plane you’d like an instructor to trim for you before YOU fly it?
-
Just want to see what other SAC members have been up to over the winter?
